FIDE Open

Time Control: 90 minutes for 40 moves + 30 minutes for all remaining moves, with a 30 second increment starting at move 1. Default time: 1 hour after scheduled start time

Who Can Enter?: Anyone can enter the FIDE Open. The organisers will invite a minimum of 15 Grandmasters.

Non English players
Must provide their FIDE Identification Number (FIN) at the time of entry. If you do not have a FIN, you must apply to your own federation for a FIN.

English players
Players with English FIDE nationality must be Gold or Platinum members of the ECF, or pay an additional £10 pay-to-play fee (add to cart when registering).

Byes: Untitled players can take up to 2 half point byes between rounds 1-8 provided they are requested before the end of the previous round.

The highest placed eligible player in the FIDE Rated Open not already qualified will qualify for the 2018 British Championships.

Super Blitz Open Tournament (FIDE RATED)

The Super Blitz is a FIDE-rated open tournament with 16-player All-Play-All groups. All group winners and runners up will qualify for a knockout stage.
