FIDE Open

Time Control: 90 minutes for 40 moves + 30 minutes for all remaining moves, with a 30 second increment starting at move 1. Default time: 1 hour after scheduled start time

Who Can Enter?: Anyone can enter the FIDE Open. The organisers will invite a minimum of 15 Grandmasters.

Non English players
Must provide their FIDE Identification Number (FIN) at the time of entry. If you do not have a FIN, you must apply to your own federation for a FIN.

English players
Players with English FIDE nationality must be Gold or Platinum members of the ECF, or pay an additional £10 pay-to-play fee (add to cart when registering).

Byes: Untitled players can take up to 2 half point byes between rounds 1-8 provided they are requested before the end of the previous round.

The three highest placed eligible players in the FIDE Rated Open not already qualified will qualify for the 2017 British Championships.

Super Rapidplay Open Tournament (FIDE RATED)

The Super Rapidplay is a 10-round FIDErated open tournament with no grading sections; instead all players play in the same section and generous grading prizes have been added.

Pairings Published for each Round:: 11:30 for Rounds 1 and 6; as soon as available for other rounds.

Time Control: All moves in 25 minutes plus a 10 second increment per move from move 1.
Default time: None, player is defaulted if time expires without having moved

Silver, Gold or Platinum ECF members are eligible for the £10 discounted entry fee tickets.
